Why I don't use the NEW Ranger Blending Pen in my classes.

Important information on the New Ranger Blending Pen .... The new blending pen will not hold up or do the same techniques that the original one can! Hold on to your old blending pens people! As you know, I have taught many lessons and have quite a few videos on using the blending pen and have always said it is my favorite a.i. tool. I finally received some back ordered, newly designed blending pens and started testing them only to find out that they are totally unsatisfactory! The new pens do not hold up or do the same techniques that the original one can! I notified Ranger and they asked me to continue testing, which I did (with no real thanks or compensation for over 3 hrs. spent, I might add.)
Both of the tips on the new pens are now the same exact material and are more like a disposable Fantastix.
Here is what I told Ranger ... The barrel is OK, it's the TIPS that need the changes...
*See photo....
*Two old design pens - top and bottom - after months or years of use ....5 new pens in the middle after 30-45min. of use
NEW PEN
•Tips are both the same exact material
•The tips retract into the barrel - because there is no longer a metal sleeve (like in the old brush end, or like in the old bullet tip - it is not attached to a plastic cap piece on the tip of the pen itself (bullet end)
• the material used DOES NOT HOLD UP AT ALL - worse than the Fantastix, (which are disposable) but Ranger's is more than quadruple the price.
• Photo of the 5 new pens in the middle - tips are from 30 - 45 min. of use!
OLD PENS
• Each tip end was different in design, shape and material
• Held up well over time and lent themselves to many different techniques.
• Tips did not retract into the barrel due to metal sleeve and attachment of bullet end.
So people .... send back, ask for a refund or at least complain about the new design. Do not waste your time and money on this product! Until this problem has been corrected, get yourself some Fantastix instead.
They changed manufacturers and told me "Management has decided that there will not be any changes at this time with the manufacturing/design of the new blending pen."
