Some Subjects Covered in a Sandy Sandy Workshop
1) Introduce various substrates and explain technique for designing page - drawing w/ pencil, pens, erasing, transferring
2) Picking palette, preparing paints, brush selection and other tools
3) How to start a painting on Yupo paper and/or tiles
4) Process of developing a main focus and subject
5) Rendering a subject in watercolor or alcohol inks - Explanation of paint consistency and techniques
6) Selecting colors and technique for a background - options discussed and demonstrated
7) Finishing touches and tying it all together
8) Sealing the painting with acrylic spray, matting and finishing

More about Sandy - She holds a BFA in art and has been a professional artist and watercolorist for over 35 years. She has painted well over a thousand alcohol ink and watercolor pieces on Yupo paper, ceramic tiles, hardboard and more. Having over twenty years experience working with the synthetic paper, she is the Yupo Consultant for Legion Paper and the in-store Yupo Paper Demonstrator for NYC Dick Blick / Utrecht Stores.
